Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of manipulating your surroundings so that the flow of chi energy is optimized, leading to better health and a greater sense of well-being. In addition, a room that benefits from harmonious feng shui is often quite peaceful to reside in. The concept of feng shui applies to the sonic aspects of a room as well as the physical - soft, quiet music can add a dose of tranquility to your surroundings. In the case of FENG SHUI from the "Solitudes" series, that ambience is crafted from a zen-themed atmosphere of Chinese instruments (erhu, guzheng, shakuhachi flute), soft, lush synths and garden-themed nature sounds. Each of the pieces is soft and gentle. "Chi in Balance," the opening track, begins with a few graceful flourishes from the guzheng, followed by the yearning voice of the bowed erhu. Other highlights include "Whispers in the Wind" and "Nurture With Fire."
With this album, a soundscape of simple, comforting melodies has been created to enhance the benefits of Feng Shui, and help bring a sense of balance and calm to the listener. Instrumentation includes shakuhachi, shamisen, erhu, cello & percussion.
